How does a music video differ from conventional broadcast narratives?

Music videos are cut shorter than nearly all broadcast narratives, most music videos are about 4 minutes long because they are made to promote the artist, album and song. In music videos, there isn't any acting happening really compared to the soaps you see on TV. Another difference between music videos and broadcast narratives is that in music videos, there's music consistently throughout the whole video.
